Causes of double chin
  • ·         Genetics is one of the most common factors that can lead to a double chin. Take a look at your relatives and see if anyone has this condition.

  • ·         Age is the major cause of the double chin in many cases. As we grow older, our muscles get smaller in size and our skin becomes looser, often leading to unnecessary fat in the chin area.

  • ·         If the above reasons aren’t true in your case, you could be having an unhealthy diet. Foods rich in Trans-fatty acids, sugar, saturated fats, and cholesterol are likely to cause this condition. Limit your consumption of butter, cheese, pork, beef, lamb, French fries, chips, cookies, white bread etc.

  • ·         People who usually slump forward are more likely to develop this condition, because when you do so, you allow fat to settle below your chin.
